Now, as we expand it toward more general milling, router, and turning applications, we’re looking for feedback from other Centroid users who may be interested in following the project, attending live demonstrations, suggesting features, or helping test future releases.

FalconCNC is a customizable operator interface and integration platform built around Centroid CNC controls.
Rather than replacing the capabilities of CNC12, FalconCNC is designed to make it easier for us to build operator interfaces, workflows, and machine-specific tools around those capabilities.
One of the features we rely on heavily is the drag-and-drop tab designer. It allows us to create custom screens and controls for a specific machine without rebuilding the entire user interface.
Buttons and controls can be added to a tab, arranged as needed, and assigned their functions. This has proven especially useful for custom production machines where the operator may only need access to a small portion of the CNC's overall functionality.
Why Are We Asking for Feedback?
Up to this point, FalconCNC has primarily been developed around the needs of Falcon Precision and the customers we support.
That has worked very well for our custom applications, but we don't want to assume that what works for us is necessarily what every mill, router, or lathe user wants.
As we begin expanding FalconCNC for broader use, we'd rather hear directly from Centroid users.
What would make your workflow easier?
What takes too many steps today?
What information would you like available at a glance?
What would you customize if you could?
What features would make FalconCNC useful enough that you would actually want to run it on your machine?
Those are the questions we're interested in answering.
Built From Real-World Use
FalconCNC is not just a concept or UI mockup.
We already have customers using it on custom application machines, and the features required for those machines are being used in production.
These applications are often very different from a traditional mill or lathe. Some have operators who have never used a CNC machine before, which makes a simplified and application-specific interface extremely valuable.
For us, being able to quickly modify an operator screen while onsite—or even remotely supporting a customer—can save a considerable amount of development and service time.
We are now beginning to bring more of the conventional milling, routing, and turning functionality into FalconCNC so that we can eventually use the same platform across our own production equipment as well as our customer machines.
Built Around Centroid, Not Against It
We are big fans of the Centroid CNC12 interface.
It is clean, simple, powerful, and familiar to a large number of machinists.
FalconCNC isn't being developed because we believe CNC12 needs to be replaced. Instead, it exists because our custom integrations often require workflows and operator interfaces that go beyond a conventional mill or lathe.
Centroid's continued expansion of its API has opened up many new possibilities for developers and machine builders, and those capabilities are a major part of what has allowed FalconCNC to grow.
Our goal is to build on that foundation.
