Reform AR40 Complete Overhaul, Enclosure, Controls
This project was a complete overhaul of a Reform AR40. We completely dismantled the machine because the machine was so badly worn. This machine originally had box ways that were worn beyond repair. We machined the ways of and converted the machine into a linear guide machine. The machine was an open enclosure that would just throw coolant all over so we converted to a fully enclosed machine. The grinding spindle needed rebuilt. The customer requested a larger motor for the grinding spindle. Replaced the ballscrews along with added an automatic lubrication system for the linear guides and ballscrews as the lube system was a manually greases system. Gave the machine a fresh paint job. Then we finished it all off by installing a Centroid Control with fully closed loop A/C Servos and provided a simple to use macro to fit the customers needs. The customer liked the machine so much that they had us do a second one just like it.
